Briggs 10 months!

 Briggs is 10 months old!
He is such a very laid back baby- as long as mommy is close by.
He is a momma's boy through and through. Especially lately since he has been teething. If I am in the room, he only wants me and clings to me for dear life. He's my little koala bear baby.
He says mamama
He finally got his two bottom teeth and more top ones are on their way!
He is getting braver with walking along things and will stand for a few seconds.
He has discovered the stairs... He didn't even take a few minutes to figure out how to climb those things, he literally just took up those stairs like no big deal. I was like... what the crap???? Now, that's where we spend most of our day.
He sleeps 7pm-630am religiously and takes 2-3 naps a day.
He wants nothing to do with baby food anymore and only wants to eat big boy food.
He doesn't seem to be a picky eater and usually will eat anything. Whoo!
He is wearing size 12-18 months clothes.
He puts anything and everything into in mouth. His favorite being dog food and rocks. We always have to be on the watch.
We love you Briggs-y boy :)

Briggs- 9 months!

So... I have failed miserably with monthly update posts for Briggs...
I missed 6,7,and 8 months! sheesh!!
So, I'll just start at 9 months.  Life is so busy!

Briggs weighs 19 pounds and made it to the 50%. The last few appointments he has been in the 25% so, the doctors were pretty impressed with his growth spurt.
Briggs started sitting up around 7 months. and has been crawling the passed couple of weeks! Jenson never actually legit crawled... so this is pretty exciting for me!! I loved watching him try to figure it out and now everyday he just gets faster and faster.
Briggs has attitude. He will scream just to scream to let you know he needs something and needs it right. NOW.
He still has zero expression.... every once in a while you can get a huge smile out of him but for the most part it's just a stone cold face.
His laugh is as goofy as ever. Almost sounds fake. But, when you get him laughing REALLY hard, it's like a deep belly laugh. So, low and rumbly! It's awesome!
He doesn't have any teeth. But oh. my. gosh. SOOO MUCH DROOL. I'm usually am pretty good when it comes to baby drool. But, there is so much of it, it's starting to really gross me out. Where are those dang teeth so this drool will calm down??! Jenson didn't get teeth until he was one, and talking to the pediatrician, late teething is usually because of genetics. He said most likely all my kids will be the same way. So, I guess I will have to deal with the drool for a few more months...
Briggs pulls himself up to anything he can and finally conquered his fear of getting back down. He would use to stand there and scream because he was too scared to move once he was standing.... hahaha. He is going to be mobile (as in walking) soon! I seriously CANNOT wait! I think it will be sooo fun to see him and Jenson chasing after each other. It makes my heart happy just thinking about it!

Jenson had to crash our little photo shoot. :) Seriously... aren't they just the cutest?

Jenson- 2years!

Jenson is now 2 years old (in July)
I just wanted to write a couple of things down that I don't ever want to forget.
Really this is probably one of those posts that is just for my sake...
At his 2 year check up, He weighed 31 lbs and was 36 inches high. He is VERY big for his age and has always been in the 90th%.
He loves Train and loves watching Chuggington on Netflix.
He is one of those kids that does well with routine (like his momma). If something interrupts our daily routine he usually throws a tantrum.
90% of the time he only will eat oatmeal for breakfast. (It's part of his routine.)
He could live off of cheese, goldfish, and apple juice.
He is very much like his dad in the sense that he would much rather fill up on drinks instead of actually eating anything... He seriously drinks 3x the amount I do and I feel like I drink alot.
His favorite person in the world is Uncle Rhy. Everytime we get in the car to go anywhere, he always asks if we are going to see Rhy. A close second favorite is Aunt Syd.
He is a very compassionate little boy. Whenever I bump my toe or hit my head and say "Ow" He'll run over and said, "Ow mom? Ow?" And give me a kiss better.
Whenever he is in trouble... He always give me a big hug and snuggle to say sorry. It helps both of us feel better. :)
The doctors are concerned about his lack of speech. Jenson has been slow to talk. It's frustrating because I know he can do it. He just gets too scared to try! Whenever I try to get him to say a word, he will either ignore me or run away. I have never been anything but positive to him. Even if he tries to say a word and completely butchers it, I always praise him. I wish he just had the confidence and would try! The doctor suggest I put him in speech therapy.... in my head im thinking.... He's two.....!!!! How do you give a 2 year old therapy??? I'm not giving up on him yet. I know it's in him. He is just taking a tad bit longer than other two year olds.
It's not like he can't talk because he definitely can! Even if I'm the only one that can translate for him. ;)
Some words he is really good at saying are: Mom, Dad, Rhy, Bri (Briggs w/o the g's), me, Rorie, vroom vroom (for car, trucks, tractors, etc),  Hi (means both hi and bye) Ball, baa (juice, his version of bottle), ow, cho, cho, papa (grandpa), hot, burr, bir (bird) and ready.
He knows Blue, green, and red and can say those.
He can say most animals sounds.
He counts... but says three, three, three! for one two three. Haha
He is a very good and loves to orgnaize and is ocd about everything being just right. So... basically he looks like his dad and has his moms personality ;)
Everyone is probably tired of me talking about his hair... because yes, I'm obsessed. I literally could not love his hair more than i already do. It glows... it's so bright. Almost white! Ha! and it's ooo sooo curly! And when it gets all poofy and it looks like a fro.... gah!!! I just can't get enough of it.
This is such a fun stage! He  is learning so much and is interested in so many things!
He says 'mom' probably a billion times a day. "Mom, mom, mom!" What? "Mom, mom, mom!" WHAT? Hahaha sometimes I have to put extra effort in remembering to always answer softly and other times I lock myself into the bathroom....Because after hearing mom so many times, I really just want to rip my hair out.... :)
He loves to play in the dirt, jump on the tramp, wander around outside, and go to the park.
He has been sleeping in a big boy bed for a couple months now and has does really well.
He sleeps 730pm-730am and still takes one 2 hour nap, every day.
He has to have his blankie, binkie, and puppy to be able to sleep.
He gives the BEST hugs. I love when he will just randomly come give me a hug, mid-playing.
He knows how to opens doors and there's been a few times I have found him outside by himself. It scares me to death.... I am trying to teach him that he has to always go outside with mommy or someone else.
He loves going and helping dad on our house and going on jeep (razor) rides with Grandma.
It is very good with Briggs and always helps keep him entertained when I am busy and need his "help."
He is really good at reminding us to say prayers for every meal, snack, drink we have..... and sometimes he even says his owns prayers. Melts my heart. Especially when he blesses Daddy and Briggs.
Life with Jenson really is the best. I love him with my whole heart. Heavenly Father truly blessed me with one of His most prized possessions!

Briggs 5 Months!

This month has been a month full of milestones for Briggs!

He has found and is totally obsessed with his toes.
He has rolled from his belly to his back a few times.
Rolls to his side to grab objects. I'm sure he will be rolling all the way over soon!
He recognizes he bottle and gets so excited to eat.
He has started eating solids and loves his veggies.
He always wants to be up and moving around so he can see everything that is going on.
He loves the baby swing that is outside.
He isn't sleeping through the night anymore and eats 2-3 times :( :(
He has a super sensitive tummy. We had to switch to a sensitive formula which has made him a completely different and happier baby!
He experienced his first plane ride and trip to the ocean when we traveled to Cancun.
He still LOVES anytime you get him naked.
He still has his "resting jerk (keeping things PG) face." He looks like he is just pissed off all the time. It really is quite hilarious. But, as soon as anyone gives him the slightest attention, he gives you the BIGGEST grin in the world. Either super pissed off or smiling. There is no in between.

5/4/16

Briggs 4 months!

Briggs is now 4 months old! Which means 8 months til Christmas everyone! Ha awful joke... I know.

He finally got a good growth spurt and weighs 14 lbs, 24inches tall (25%) and is wearing 6 month clothes.
He is definitely a people person and loves to smile and talk to anyone that will give him attention.
He loves watching his brother play and is so patient with him as well.
He loves to be naked and gets really excited every time you get him dressed, change his bum, or give him a bath.
He is getting pretty good at standing up with our help. Getting those muscles stronger and stronger.
He is still doing great at sleeping.
His nicknames include: Bee, Bee-riggs, Briggles, Boogers, and Briggs-y
He snores soooo loud at night.
Briggs has to be swaddled and have his binky in order to sleep.
He is trying so hard to grab objects. It's my favorite to watch him concentrate so hard and move his hands ever so slowly, trying to grab an object, and then completely misses it. Hahaha I love this stage!!!
He loves chewing and sucking on his fists.
We love you Briggs!!

4/8/16

Briggs 3 Months

Briggs is such a sweet little boy. <3
His smile lights up his whole face! It's my absolute favorite! It's like a straight mouth smile but reaches all the way to his eyes.
He is going through this stage where if he's awake, then someone better be talking to him. He is a social little dude and will smile at anyone who pays attention to him.
That being said... He also has this look that's like "you're ridiculous" or "this is stupid" almost like a glare type thing. If he's not smiling, then he's glaring. There is NO in between. It's quite hilarious. Smile. Glare. Smile. Glare.
He loves eating his fists.
Briggs is doing much better at sleeping. YAY! We're almost there. About half the time I can get him to sleep all the way until 5am and then he goes back to sleep til 8am. But, there are still a few nights here and there where he wakes up at 3am. I am a BIG believer on routine! That's what we did with Jenson and now Briggs and they have both been excellent sleepers! Sleeping through the night at 3 months old. Bath every night at 7 and then bottle, then off to sleep. Works like a charm. And as soon as you disrupt that routine you can bet your bottom both of them will be... as Kip Moore would say, "Up All Night." Yes.... I have my own version of that song that I sing to Briggs when he wakes up in the middle of the night. I'm quite clever. ;)
Briggs LOVES Jenson. Anytime Jenson is around him playing loudly or laughing. Briggs will tune right in and just watch forever. I can't wait to watch them play together!
He is a bit smaller than Jenson was (Jenson was is a chunk.) Briggs is still wearing 3 months clothes. I swear Jenson was already in 6-9 months at this stage. HA!
Every once in a while you can get him to giggle. I have gotten him to giggle maybe half a dozen times. There's nothing sweeter than hearing your baby giggle.
He loves to be swaddled and loves his binky.
He is super chill and a very easy going baby. He kind of has to be with his big brother always taking all the attention.

3/7/16

2 Months!

Briggs weighs 11 lbs and is 21 inches tall.
I swear he went through a pretty quick growth spurt. Like I blinked and he is no longer my newborn squishy baby. What the heck?
He did not do so well with his shots, and screamed that awful baby scream anytime someone even came close to touching his legs. It was a long few days.
Briggs now smiles and will smile at anyone who will give him any attention.
I (yes, me, Lindsie) got him to giggle his very first time. I was so proud of myself. Mostly because it took Jenson months before I could get him to laugh. Jenson would only laugh at his dad, that lil stinker!
He still wakes up twice during the night to eat.
He always has his super serious face on, eyebrows clenched and scowling.
He loves to be swaddle and is still undecided about his binky, which is good because his big brother likes to steal it every chance he gets.:)

2/10/16

Briggs One Month

Happy 1 month to my Briggs boy. He eats every two hours during the day and 3ish hours at night. He is a lot more fussy than Jenson ever was and grunts a ton! But, unlike Jenson he LOVES to cuddle, which I am a big fan of! :) Everyday he looks less and less like Jenson to me and seems to have found some Womack genes. He is really good at giving dirty looks... just like his mom.  He is SUPER patient with his older brother when he is trying to shove a binky in his mouth and absolutely hates his car seat! We love him and are sooooo blessed he's apart of our family.

11/2/15

30 Weeks

So far, I'm feeling.... as good as I could being 30 weeks pregnant.
Baby boy is measuring right on track.
Already gained as much as I did with Jenson at 40 weeks.... won't say anything else. haha :(
Just like Jenson, this kid likes hanging out in my right side rib cage. My ribs are constantly aching.
I haven't really craved anything for awhile. Which is good that the pizza phase finally passed!
I still take a shot once a day for blood clots.
We do have a name picked out. If you ask me in person, I'll tell you what it is. We've been more open about this name than we were with Jenson's name. Mostly because we were back and forth with Jenson. I still don't think I'll share it on my blog though until he's born. It does start with a 'B' though, if your dying for a hint.
I am getting super excited for him to be here! I can't wait to watch my Jenson become a big brother. :)
Baby B has the best big brother to look up to. Their going to be the bestest of friends!
I still can't believe I'm going to be a mom of two little boys here soon. Gosh that's sooo crazy!
His due date is Jan. 4th.... I'm hoping he is here before Christmas. That's really all I want for Christmas... haha I know I shouldn't get my hopes up though. My Dr. did say she would induce me early if everything looks good so, I can get my epidural. If you don't remember... with the shots I take, I can't get an epidural unless I've been off them for 24 hours. So, it's safest for me to get induced, that way I can schedule when to stop taking my shots. We're hoping things continue to go smoothly, so I can get induced a few weeks early!
Yay for babies!!!

9/25/15

14 Months-ish

Okay, I was planning on being done with the updates with Jenson as soon as he turned one. But, He is just growing too fast and learning things faster than the speed of light. My motherly instincts wants me to write it all down so I never forget.

So obviously the biggest thing is that he is walking. I seriously was freaking out that he wouldn't be walking before his little bro was born (18 months) and that I would have two babies to carry around. But, seriously within like one week he just took off. We were all pretty amazed. I'll just have to get one of the leash things once his brother comes around so I can keep track of him.

Words Jenson can say:
-Hi
-Ball (everything round is a ball)
-Dad
-More: sounds a lot like mom, and people get confused and say, "aw He is saying mom." But, nope! He just wants more food. :)
-Boo: he hides under the table then comes out and yells "Boo!"
-Ro-Ro: (Rorie) and every other dog.
-Baby: He says baby when he sees his baby pictures. Hopefully that's a good step to getting him use to the idea of a baby brother!!
-Hot:

Other words Jenson can understand:
-No: I'm soooo glad he hasn't learn how to say this yet. But, every time we say it too him, he shakes his head no. Or if he is doing something that he knows he isn't suppose to do, like play in the dog food, he'll look at me, shake his head, then start playing in it. Little stinker!
-Outside: He loves to go outside. All I need to say is, "Jens, do you want to go outside?" and he'll run grab his shoes then go sit by the door. Smart boy!
-Bye-bye: Obviously he's done this for awhile. When I am going to dance I'll say, "Jenson, I'm going to go bye-bye" and he'll just wave without even stopping what he is doing.
-Loves: Sometimes if he's in a good mood, he'll give you a hug if you ask for some loves. Mostly he'll do it to the dogs.
-Kisses and blow kisses: He'll blow kisses all the time. But, just like 'loves' he's got to be in a good mood in order to hand out real-slobbery kisses.
-Juice: His sippy cup
-Garbage: He'll throw things away if you ask him too. :)
-Bottle:
-Binky and Blankey: These sound so similar, I'm not sure he knows the difference or if it's a package deal. He usually only gets both when its nap time. He has grown quite attached to a blankey that he stole from grandma's house. It use to be uncle Brandon's blanket. He saw that thing and seriously hasn't let go of it since.

He keeps me very busy all day long. His favorite activities include:
-Rearranging everything from one cupboard to another.
-Hiding his toys in the pantry
-Throwing everything away. (Not just garbage)
-Eating, eating, eating,
-Playing in water
-Being outside
-Throwing sticks and rocks in the canal
-Playing in the dogs food and water dish
-Playing in the dirt

He is a very good eater. I swear he eats as much as his prego mom. :) He loves everything except veggies... I can't get him to eat any vegetables. Any one have any tips?? His favorites are still avocados and eggs. He snacks constantly and prefers goldfish and ritz crackers. He chugs his apple juice like there's no tomorrow and loves when mom surprises him with chocolate milk.

He is really good at throwing tantrums and fake crying. I have a really hard time not laughing when he throws himself on the floor. I can't complain though because after each tantrum, he will usually come and give me a hug... awwwww... makes my heart melt. Then just like that everything is better and he's off to his next project. :)

Jenson is such a good sleeper! I was definitely blessed to have him. Especially while being pregnant and super tired myself. He sleeps 7 to 730pm until anywhere from 7-8am. 12-13 hours!!  He takes his first nap at 10am and usually sleep two hours. Then takes another hour nap in the afternoon around 130 or 2. Of course there are always a few nights that are a bit rough because of teething and what not... But so far he's been amazing and I'm crossing my fingers his brother takes after him!

Jenson now has 8 teeth. 6 on top and 2 little guys on bottom. I definitely know he's working on some more because it's been a rough few days. The question is which ones.... They have all come in backwards. Not literally backwards but the timeline has been a bit screwy.

Goodness I love this little boy more and more everyday. I truly am soooo blessed. I love that I get to be home with him and watch him learn and grow. He forever has my heart.

8/21/15

12 months

Well today is the today. My baby is one year old. I still remember so many details about the day he was born. It was truly one of the best days of my life. There is no greater feeling than becoming a mom.

Wow! This month has been a HUGE milestone for Jenson. He has learned soooo much! It's like he's been holding out on us and waiting until he was a year and then just one day decided to show us all his tricks. Silly boy.

He weighs 25lbs, is 30.5 inches long, and still has a huge head sitting in the 97% at 48 cm.

He now has 4 teeth. Yes, he got all 4 teeth this passed month. Crazy! His top ones came in first which was kinda funny.

He actually starting to 'legit' crawl. One day he literally just took off. He does still army crawl half the time. It's just whatever he is in the mood for.

He can crawl up stairs and thinks he is so cool for doing it. We spend a lot of time on the stairs lately.

He is obsessed with eating Rorie's dog food and playing in her water dish. We have to keep hiding it but somehow Jenson can always smell it out.

Jenson pulls himself up on everything and now cruises around.

We've gotten him to start only using one of our hands when he walks with us. He has taken a couple steps by himself and sometimes will walk from one thing to another if the distance is short enough.

The first two weeks of the month he was having major sleeping issues. He HATED sleep and would fight it so hard! It took us over an hour to put him down to sleep every time. It was so frustrating! But, it was super weird because we went to Lake Powell, which he did really well at sleeping (mostly because he was so exhausted from playing all day long.) Since we have been home, he has been sleeping like a champ. Goes to sleep all by himself. He even will crawl to me and point to his bottle and lets me know he is ready for a nap. Also, at night he has started skipping his 5am eating habit and sleeping til 8am! 13 hours! It's been heavenly. I'm thankful for Lake Powell's magic.

Jenson truly has made this passed year the best. I'm so excited for the future to see him continue to grow and learn.

You can read about his actual Birthday celebrations here

7/1/15

11 Months!

I know I say this at the beginning of every monthly update.... but seriously how is it that my baby boy is 11 months old???

I'm not go to lie... this passed month has been the hardest month yet. I don't know if it was because Al and I were gone for half of it on our cruise or... what. That's what I'm blaming it on. But, really I think it's just a phase. Jenson is going through a tantrum/stubborn stage. Tantrums???? Already??? I thought I still had another year before I had to deal with those.

He wants to do everything himself. Especially when it comes to eating. He also thinks he is too big for his pureed fruits and veggies now days and only wants to eat what mom and dad are eating, even if that means pizza. He also only wants to eat his cheddar puffs, and gold fish. Seriously he could eat those all day long. And it's like all hell breaks loose when I finally cut him off. Holy cow!!

We eat tons of toast, bagels, eggs, eggs, and more eggs. It's so hard to cook dinner now!!

Also, weird little fact, Jenson HATES watermelon!! He can't be my child if he doesn't like watermelon. ;) IT's a disgrace! Only because I eat a whole watermelon by myself pretty much every week. Oh well, I guess more for me!

Jenson has also decided that he doesn't like his diaper changed anymore. It is seriously a wrestling match every. single. time. Blood curdling screaming, trying to pin him down, getting poop everywhere.... Seriously child?? Isn't he too young to be acting this way???

(He thinks) He is too big for his walker now and would much rather walk around holding someone's fingers. Once again, he could do this all day long. My back kills and my fingers are bruised purple. If I'm busy doing something, and unable to walk around with him, he will throw himself on the floor and scream. I'm pretty sure my neighbors think I abuse my child.

Also, when I use to go to the bathroom and he would be just fine. I would bring him with me and distract him with his bath toys. Now days, I go to the bathroom when he naps ONLY or we have another tantrum on the bathroom floor. It's not enjoying trying to go to the bathroom with a screaming child on your feet... or lap!

I seriously hope this is just a phase!! I'm trying my hardest not to spoil him and let him get his way. But, man I can only take so many tantrums in one day. I seriously am exhausted when the day is over and look forward to bedtime.

Okay, enough with the doom and gloom. He is still the most perfect boy around. I love him with all my heart, tantrums and all. I have a huge crush on his big blue eyes and his messy sweaty nap hair. I also love that he has started playing with my hair again while he eats and cuddles me in the morning at his 5 o'clock eating time. He wakes up so happy every morning. There is nothing better to wake up to than a happy babbling baby in the monitor and to go into his room to see his smiling face looking at me through the bars. Gosh he's so dang cute!!!

He LOVES swimming. Doesn't matter how cold the water is... he wants to get in that water NOW! We got him his own kiddy pool and we are in the thing every single day.

He still has no teeth haha but I have a feeling this will be the last monthly update where I have to say that. Fingers crossed. (Ps, I know the pics show that he has teeth. But, that's because I took the pictures like 3 weeks after writing this blog post haha) At his last Dr. app. the Dr. said that it looked like his top teeth were closer than his bottom teeth. It's true, his top gums are sooooo swollen. I feel awful and wish I could do something to get the teeth in quicker. I hoping that his teeth are the reason for all the tantrums... and I swear he is going to get all his teeth in at once. Every time I see his gums, they look closer and closer to breaking through. They're just taking their dear sweet time. Nothing beats a big, cheesy, gummy, Jenson smile though. :)

He can now pull himself up to things, the tub, the couch, and most recently in his crib. It scared me half to death when I walked in to see him standing up! Ahhh!

Probably the happiest moment this month is when we went to a birthday party, and someone that had just met Jenson, told me how much he looked like me. I seriously almost teared up I was sooo happy! I said, "Everybody else says the opposite." She said, "Ya, I can see his dad in him too but, I can also see a lot of you." It seriously made my whole day. Apparently her and I are the only ones in the entire world that thinks Jenson looks anything like me. It's from his nose up, same eye shape, forehead. Yup... he gets it from me. :) Oh, and Jenson is also super shy. Alek has never been the shy kind of person, so I know for a fact that is like me! He hides his face in my chest when strangers try to talk to him. I love it :)

Seriously, I don't know what I did to get such a cute little stinker. I am still in denial that next months update will most likely be the last and 12th update I've done. How has it already been almost a year? :( oh the tears.......

5/14/15

10 Months!

HOLY MOLY! How can my sweet boy be 10 months old already??

Jenson can army crawl.
He wants to walk 24/7 by holding onto your fingers. He'll scoot over to you then grab your fingers, pull himself up, and just start running.
He says "Dadda" and "Hi" all day long.
He sleeps 7pm-6am most nights.
He takes 2-3 naps a day, usually lasting hour and a half.
He is going through this scared phase. It's kinda hilarious. He is scared of the vacuum, the hair dryer, his little giraffe that rattles????, and pretty much anything that makes a loud noise. His body tenses up, he starts shaking and will reach for whoever is closest to him and hide behind them. Silly boy.
He still has no teeth.
He has started letting his tongue hang out. It is just hanging out 24/7
He has started whining. ugh..... haha it's like this soft, high pitch, puppy dog whine.
He is picking up food now and feeding himself. I've notice he does this with his left hand. He is totally going to be left handed!!! Alek is slightly upset about it. He says he doesn't want to have to buy left-handed golf clubs. Hahaha! oh boy...
He is really good at throwing tantrums! His stubbornness is definitely shining through more and more each day.
He throws and drops things constantly. Yes, he thinks it's a funny game.
I swear, he constantly wants to eat! Mostly big people food.

4/15/15

9 Months!

Man these months are flying by!
23 pounds (70%)
28.5 inches (50%)
Head: 47 cm (90%)

Jenson's personality is shining through more and more every day. He is definitely a stubborn one. :) But, also I don't think he could be a happier baby. He all smiles and giggles all day long.

He LOVES walking around as he holds onto someones fingers. He could do that all day long. I'm pretty sure he will be walking before he's crawling. Ain't nobody got time for that!
He's learning to pick up food and feed himself. It's pretty funny to watch!
He plays 'patty-cake' all day long and gives kisses (occasionally) Oh my gosh, It's my FAVORITE thing ever!!!
He wears 18 month clothes.
He still is obsessed with Rorie. Anytime I say "Rorie" Jenson gets all excited and starts looking around for her.
He loves being outside.
He loves anything with wheels. Bikes, cars, fourwheelers, tractors, etc.....
Oh how I love my sweet baby boy!!

And just for fun.....

9 Months in                                                                                    9 Months out

3/18/15

8 months!

This has probably been my favorite stage Jenson has gone through so far. He is learning so many things! I love watching him figure stuff out. I could just sit and watch him all day long and never get bored!!

He knows how to wave now and oh my goodness.. It melts my heart ever. single. time. It's the cutest little baby wave I've ever seen. He gets his whole arm into it. His favorite person to wave to is of course, Rorie. Every time Rorie walks into the room he waves hi to her. He truly loves his puppy.

Jenson has also gotten really good at pulling faces. My favorite is when he scrunches up his nose and squints his eyes and smiles. haha it cracks me up. Silly kid!

We have finally transitioned out of the swaddle. Whew.... I thought we would never get to this point. I ordered a Zipadeezip. At first I was a little skeptical because they are kind of goofy looking and I had already spent money on other swaddle blankets that had only failed. But holy moly... It works like a charm! He can now move freely around in his sleep, and goes to sleep so quickly. Best purchase so far!

No matter where I place him in his crib, he always wiggles his way so he ends up sleeping completely sideways with his feet sticking out of the bars. Also he sleeps likes his momma, on his side/belly and has to have a blanket right next to his face. :)

Because of the nice weather Jenson has experienced so many new things. He loves being outside! He loves walks, watching cars, playing with rocks, chewing on sticks (a trick he learned from Rorie), loves the swings, and we've even jumped on the tramp. I have a feeling that he is going to be like his dad and not be afraid of anything. He already wants to ride a mountain bike just like his daddy does. Boy, am I going to have my hands full this summer.

He's not crawling yet, but I can tell it's going to happen soon. Still don't know that I'm ready for my baby to crawl :( There's no way he is old enough yet!

He still has no teeth. I'm loving that I get his gummy smile as long as I have.

We had our first trip to the insta care a few weeks ago. Jenson had a fever of 102.5. Turns out he had a double ear infection. Poor kid :( I enjoyed all the snuggles I got though!

He is OBSESSED with food. He thinks when we are eating, he also needs to eat, even if we just barely finished feeding him his own food. We always second guess our decision when we want to go out to eat. Taking him to restaurants has turned into a lot of work. We went to firehouse last week and ended up leaving right after we got our food because Jenson was throwing the biggest fit over the fact we weren't feeding him pizza. :( I had even brought him his own sweet potatoes (his favorite) to try and distract/trick him. But, he ain't a stupid kid and knew I wasn't feeding him the deliciousness that we were eating. Silly boy.

He plays with my hair when He eats his bottle, I absolutely love it. That's the only time I can get him to cuddle with me.

He is still obsessed when cords and tags. Also the vacuum, dishwasher, pantry, fridge, pulling the garbage can over, the Tupperware drawer, and chewing on Rorie toys. I don't know why I even buy him his own toys... they don't get used!

He weighs 20+ lbs. That was a few weeks ago at insta care

He is now wearing 12 month clothing. I cant keep up with how fast he is growing! I'm pretty sure next week he'll be wearing 4T!!!

There's been a lot of people commenting on the few little hairs he has on top of his head and what color they are. I've always thought his hair would be light brown like his mom and dad's but, when you take him outside in the sun, you can definitely see some red!!  I might just have a little ginger babe!! :) Alek was a total red-head when he was a little kid. So stinkin' cute!!

Boy oh boy. Can you tell I love my Jenson or what? Only a slight obsession. I'm such a lucky momma!!!

2/17/15

7 months!

I swear time is going by faster and faster!  This last month felt like a week. And to think he only has 5 months before he is a year old. And how much he is going to change in those 5 months! :(

The past few weeks have been rough. I feel like Jenson has been more fussy than usual. I'm assuming it's teething. Ahhh I just want those dang teeth to come in already!! I want my happy baby back!

He's been waking up in the middle up the night a lot lately and I think it's because he gets to hot/uncomfortable because of the swaddle he is in. I'm hoping I can figure out a way here soon to transition him out of the swaddle. Anyone have any tips??? He needs to be swaddled up to get to sleep but then wakes up because he's not free to move around. Poor babe :(

He's nap have been really good lately! He takes 3 a day now.

Sunday's are our longest days. He does NOT sleep at church and he gets so cranky! It makes it really hard to teach primary with a grumpy baby. Al and I have to take turns. One giving the lesson and the other wondering the halls with Jenson.

He loves sitting out on the front porch and watching cars drive passed. It's the only way I can calm him down on his fussy days.

He loves going for walks

Has started to get on his toes and push his butt in the air when he is on his belly.

He rather play with Rorie's toys than his own. :)

Lately instead of crying he yells, "mmmmmm, mmmm, mmmmmm" Over and over and OVER! And he won't stop unless you pick him up and yes, you have to be standing. Holding him when you sit down doesn't count. Little turkey!

Definitely a momma's boy. Which I love sooooo much but also can be exhausting when he wants no one else to hold him. I got some good 'mom muscles' ;)

1/27/15

6 months!

I seriously can't believe my baby is half a year old. Makes me soo sad but sooo happy at the same time.
This is such a fun stage!! He is learning new things every day. He's one smart little boy.
Weight: 18 lbs (61 %)
Length: 27 inches (72%)
Head: 18 inches (96%) -Big head!

~He can now sit up by himself.
~His LOVES chasing Rorie around in his walker
~Is learning how to use a sippy cup
~Rolls across the room in seconds
~Still loves being swaddled, which seriously is so surprising to me!
~Sleeps from 730pm to 530am. eats then go back to sleep until 8ish
~He loves cords. Daddy's laptop cord, the TV cord, the Comp. mouse cord, etc... He gets away with chewing on them now because he still doesn't have any teeth. But once the teeth come we're going to have to cut him off!
~His new obsession has been tags! With other his stuff toys the first thing is does is finds the tag and starts sucking on it. If he sees the tag on the dish towel I'm using he will go crazy! It's hilarious!
~He laughs anytime Rorie walks past him or barks.
He still kicks his legs like crazy 24/7! Especially when he knows it is bathtime and can hear the water running. It's his way of showing his excitement!
~He is getting so much harder to hold because he is so wriggly and just wants to look at EVERYTHING!
~I've started to wean him and he is eating formula like a champ!
And
~He holds his own bottle... when he wants to.

The past few days I've been realizing how soon he will be crawling. I'm so excited for him to reach that milestone but honestly I'm also dreading it! It's going to be a game changer for sure! I already have a hard time control him because he wants to get into everything and he's not even mobile! I can't even imagine what it's going to be like when I have to start chasing him around the house. I literally won't get ANYTHING done! I'm soaking in every ounce I possibly can of my Lil immobile babe ;)

I love you so much Jenson! Happy half birthday! :)

1/5/15

5 months!

~Jenson loves laughing at our dog, Rorie!
~He can walk around in his walker like a CHAMP!
~He loves his Oatmeal cereal and has started saying "mmmm" after every bite. We have completely given up on his rice cereal.
~He beat his old record and slept 11 hours one night! I was so confused when I woke up by myself and Jenson was still sleeping!
~He still can't quite figure out how to roll from his back to his bellie. I blame it on his chubby tummy ;) It's just simply too much work.
~He has started sucking on his tongue.
~He has started to teeth. Haven't seen any teeth poke through yet but he's constantly drooling and wanted to bite down on my fingers.
~He has finally found his voice and is talking so much! He use to only grunt.
~My favorite: He now reaches for me when someone else is holding him. He recognizes who I am!
~He is so close to being able to sit up. I give it two weeks!
~His favorite thing to do is kick his legs. He can kick SO fast. I swear he's going to be the world's fastest runner one day.
~He has gotten SOOO much better at taking naps! (knock on some serious wood) He now sleeps 45mins. - two hours every nap, 4-5 times a day. wheww!  Before is was a constant fight to get him to sleep and he would only sleep 20 minutes.
~He still fights he sleep when we are away and his crib is not available. For some reason he NEEDS his crib or else he will not sleep.  Talk about high maintenance...

12/5/14

4 months!

This happy dude is 4 months!
I can't even believe it.

He weighs 16 lbs (75%)
Is 25.5 inches long (77%)
and has a head cir. of 44cm (91%)
and is now in 6-9 month clothes
He eats 4-5 oz every 2 hours on. the. dot.
.
He has now figured out how to use his hands. He can grab objects and brings them straight to his mouth.

He's not a big crier, unless you take his bottle away to burp him.... mostly when he wants something or is upset he GRUNTS.

He has found his feet and tries to grab them, He is so close!

Jenson still is sleeping very well! and has FINALLY gotten passed the 5am wake up call. Sometimes we still get up that early but lately it's been 5:45-6:15. Last night he slept from 8pm-6:45am! YAY! I fed him,and he went straight back to sleep, in fact that's why I'm blogging right now. I can't sleep and he's fast asleep snuggled right next to me. Don't think life can get any more perfect <3

Jenson can roll over from his belly to his back like a champ!

He LOVES his daddy! No one makes him laugh like his daddy can.

Being swaddled is not so much an issue anymore to get him to fall asleep. Sometimes he wants to be swaddled for naps during the day (it's a big guessing game) but at night he likes to be sprawled out with his hand above his head.

We've been working on the rice cereal. So far, he absolutely HATES it.

But he LOVES his sweet potatoes and pears.

The thing that makes me the most sad is that He no longer likes to be cuddled to sleep. He grunts and fights and kicks against me! Now I lay him down in his crib awake and he will instantly close his eyes and go to sleep. Awww... I miss my snuggly baby!!! :(

His NEWEST thing is this:

Whahh! Talk about worrying mom to death! He loves to have his face covered while he sleeps. Seriously....it scares me! He's going to suffocate! Every time I try and move the blanket or pillow he gets upset. I have to wait until he is fast asleep! Even though it's scary, it's still the funniest thing! As soon as I lay him down for a nap, he is instantly reaching for something or turning his head this way and that until he's completely covered. Crazy boy!

10/30/14

3 Months

I feel like I'm finally getting this mom stuff down. I know as soon as I say that things are going to flip flop. But, as of right now, me and Jenson are on a pretty good schedule. I now know (most of the time) exactly what he wants when he starts fussing. Which was my BIGGEST fear before having kids! With other babies, as soon as they started crying (which happened a lot when I was holding them) all I needed to do was hand them back to their mom. I feel like a super women when Jenson starts fussing and people hand him back to me and I can calm him down. BOOO-YAA! I always feel like saying, "That's right, I'm his Mom. I know what to do"
We finally have a good routine down for night. We bath and feed him around 8pm or just whenever he is seeming tired and then He is out for the night! Well... until 5am... But, that's 9-10 hours so I'm thinking that's pretty awesome. It's crazy just how into his system this routine is. Because literally it is exactly 5:00-5:02am that he wakes up EVERY morning. Never 5:15.  I am amazed at how on top of things he is! He'll eat and then go right back to sleep till 8-9. It makes me one happy momma!
There are a few times at night when he'll wake up around 2-3am and it's always because he has come un-swaddled. Which it still a MUST for him. Once you swaddle him back up, he is right back asleep before you even have time to put his binkie back in his mouth. It's so funny how swaddling him up will calm his down instantly. I thought being swaddled was only a newborn thing? I'm curious how much longer it's going to last!

This past month we have finally gotten him to laugh! Well.. his dad got him to first and OF COURSE I wasn't there to witness it. :( Then, finally like 3 weeks later he laughed for me. It melts my heart every time. If you don't follow me on Instagram, you most definitely should because I posted a video of him laughing the other day. It was the happiest moment in my entire life! He was laughing at his Aunts who were teasing Rorie, playing keep away with one of Rorie's toys. This made Jenson laugh SO hard! The video I recorded lasted for 3 minutes and I didn't even record the whole thing. Man, it was hilarious, that he found that so funny! I totally would post the video on here.... I just am not that tech-savvy and am too lazy to figure it out. Sorry... ;0

Jenson has also found his hands. They are CONSTANTLY in his mouth and he is always drooling everywhere. Sometimes I think maybe he is already starting to teeth? But, I've never gone through this before so really I'm have know idea.

He is getting pretty chunky! He is mostly in 6 months clothes right now... haha. He has to eat every 2 hours on the dot during the day and not a minute late or he will throw a tantrum. And if you think you are going to try and burp him in between eating... You better think again. NO ONE interrupts Jenson when he is eating. Or else, he will get all red faced, scream, and stiffen up. It's actually quite hilarious.

 He loves:
Bath time
Watching football
Swaddled
Eating, eating, and more eating.
Fingers
Holding on to mom's shirt while eating
Cat naps
Listening to music as he goes to sleep
Seeing how many blow outs he can create a day.

He despises:
Tummy time
Burping
Taking naps
Sitting in his Bumbo
When you hold him in towards your chest-he has to face outward to see everything.

Okay, really I just talk to much about my baby don't I? Well now you can just enjoy his 3 months pictures. I have a feeling these pictures are going to get harder and harder to take every month. You can see why below. :)
